Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers about how Dylen works, what makes it different, and what to expect.

Getting Started

Dylen is a structured learning platform that uses AI to generate complete, interactive Courses tailored to your goals. Unlike a general-purpose chat tool, Dylen walks you through a deliberate process: you configure your topic, level, and teaching style; review and approve the learning outcomes; then generate a full Course with interactive exercises. The result is a Course built around what you actually want to learn — not a conversation thread you have to manage. You don't need prompt-writing skills — a few keywords are enough, and Dylen drafts the full learning brief for you to edit and approve.
Chatbots like Gemini and Claude are conversation tools: you ask, they reply, and you're left with text to read and re-read. Dylen is a learning system. You configure your topic, learner level, teaching approach, and focus once, then review the exact outcomes your Course will cover before anything is generated. What you get back is a sectioned course with practice built into every section — MCQs, flip cards, fill-in-the-blank, caselets, and more — not a wall of text. Writing Checks evaluate what you write and correct it in place, and a live voice tutor can coach you, explain a concept, or read the lesson aloud as you go.
No. Dylen is designed for anyone who wants to learn something effectively — students, professionals, or self-directed learners. You provide the topic and your preferences; Dylen handles the pedagogical structure.
No — that's the point. Give Dylen a few keywords and it writes the full learning brief for you: your level, focus, teaching style, and proposed outcomes. You read it in plain English, change what you want, and approve. Nothing generates until you say so.
Yes. Our public library of interactive courses and exercises is open to browse — you can open a course and try it right in your browser. Creating a free account lets you generate Courses, save your progress, and get evaluated feedback on your written answers.
Sign up at dylen.app. New accounts go through a brief approval process before full access is granted. You'll receive an email notification once your account is approved. If you'd like to be approved sooner, email support@dylen.app and we'll fast-track your account.
We review new accounts to maintain a high-quality, focused learning environment. The approval process lets us ensure the platform is being used as intended and allows us to manage capacity responsibly.
95% of accounts are approved within minutes. In rare cases it can take up to 8 hours. Enable push notifications and you'll know the moment your account is approved. If you haven't heard back after that, check your spam folder or contact support@dylen.app.

AI & Course Generation

Dylen runs your request through a structured pipeline — not a single one-shot generation. First, a planner maps out the Course structure based on your configuration. Then you review the specific learning outcomes it plans to cover and can edit, remove, or add your own. Once you approve, the builder generates each section with the widget types you selected. Finally, an enrichment pass adds illustrations and any interactive elements. The whole process is deliberate and reviewable — nothing generates blindly.
No. For each Course, you configure your preferences upfront — topic, learner level, teaching approach, language, focus, and depth. These are set before generation begins. There's no back-and-forth conversation to maintain, no context to re-explain. Each Course configuration is self-contained and deliberate.
Before any content is generated, Dylen shows you the specific learning outcomes it plans to cover. You can edit the wording of any outcome, remove ones that aren't relevant, and add your own. Only after you confirm this plan does generation begin. This means you always know exactly what a Course will teach — and you're in control of it before a single word is written.
Widgets are the interactive learning components that make up a Course. Dylen has 43 widget types across reading, visuals, quizzes, writing, coding, audio, and live practice — including MCQs, Fill in the Blank, Flip Cards, Swipe Cards, Short and Long Answer, Illustration, Code Viewer, Flow Diagram, Dialogues, Caselet, Checklist, Step Flow, Table, Terminal Demo, Translations, Fenster, Audio Recording, Roleplay, Live Call, and more.
Yes, on workspaces where source uploads are enabled. You can upload your own material and Dylen will use it as the foundation for the generated Course. Uploaded files are automatically deleted within 24 hours of processing.
Dylen generates content using advanced AI models, and like all AI systems, outputs can occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. You should review generated Courses before using them for high-stakes purposes. The Outcome Review step gives you direct control over what the Course teaches, and Writing Checks help you identify gaps in your own understanding.

Exercises

Exercises are focused, standalone practice sessions — smaller than a full Course and generated in a single pass. Choose a topic, set the difficulty (1–5), pick up to two widget types, and generate practice-only widgets with per-widget item limits. No full Course pipeline required.
Courses are structured, multi-section learning experiences built around reviewed outcomes. They include explanatory content and interactive exercises. Exercises skip the planning phase entirely — they're pure practice. Use exercises to test yourself on something specific or warm up before a Course.
Exercises support practice-oriented widgets such as MCQs, Fill in the Blank, Flipcards, Translations, True/False, Swipe Cards, Connections, Sequences, Short Answer, Long Answer, Code Review, Coding Challenge, Audio Recording, Interactive Terminal, Fenster, Picture Probe, Task Check, Roleplay, and Live Call. Each exercise can include up to 2 widget types.

Writing Checks

Writing Checks are structured answer evaluations built into Dylen's interactive exercises. When you write a short answer or longer response, Dylen evaluates what you wrote — identifying what you got right, what needs improvement, and providing a corrected or refined version. The goal is to build real retrieval memory through precise feedback, not just to validate that you wrote something.

Live Tutor

The Live Tutor is a voice tutor that walks a lesson with you in real time. It can coach you through each widget, explain concepts, or read the lesson aloud — you pick the approach. You can talk to it or type, and it follows along with what's on your screen, section by section.
